Work Life Balance Specialist

After 23 years in the corporate world it was time to leave. I always knew that I was destined to do greater things and the universe had given me many signs over the last two years of being in the medical rehabilitation sector.

In 2013, I took the plunge and became a Work Life Balance Specialist. Colleagues, friends and family used to laugh at my organizational skills, and time management skills and chuckle that I was Betty Crocker, June Cleaver and Martha Stewart all wrapped up in one person. What a true compliment!

The more I thought about this and the amount of women who regularly sought my advice on topics from domestic strategies, recipes, advice on children, etc. I just knew.

A very special young boy whom I had provided medical case management for a number of years named me “Mama Deb” after his third neurosurgery. As I sat in the recovery room with his mother, it truly was an ‘aha’ moment and I pondered that one day I will use this for good purposes in a truly pay-it-forward way.

Mama Deb was brought to the branding world in March 2013 and has not looked back. Through seminars, coaching, blogging and being true to who I am meant to be, the feeling of being and knowing your in the right place is quite calming. It absolutely feels right.

Mama Deb profiles a “Mom” each month on our website (www.mamadeb.com), with the goal of sharing, educating and showing women that we all come from different walks of life. The goal is to choose a woman from a different social economic and psychosocial perspective so that other women can relate. It is pure joy for me!
